[Chugalug] Bash Issue (Probably a Me Issue)

JustinMcAfee
Anyone willing to look over a chunk of code I've written?
I can paste bin it or whatever applicable.
I need to install 300+ updates on a clients server, but one of the dependencies that is being upgraded breaks a production application. Trying to script the install of the other 290+~ without upgrading the dependencies. Without having to sudo apt install x y z by hand.

Are you having a problem or just need a second opinion?
I've written a few bash scripts.
And I've been bitten too...

Does your package system support the concept of "holding" a package?

Apt calls is "hold", yum calls it "lock".  Not to hold you back from
scripting, but perhaps there is a different way to skin that cat?
