[Chugalug] NASA Software

David White-2
This looks really interesting: https://www.nasa.gov/press-release/nasa-releases-software-catalog-granting-the-public-free-access-to-technologies-for

Maybe someone on the list would find this one particularly useful: "Efficient Parallel Engineering Computing on Linux Workstations" - https://software.nasa.gov/software/NPO-46892-1

NASA is where Beowulf Clusters were honed if not actually invented. As were a lot of ethernet drivers and other core code.

https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Beowulf_cluster

Reportedly, they were forced to invent it due to a lack of funds, and at night people would boot their workstations on a FLOPPY DISK that would boot Linux and the systems would join the cluster to work on big problems.
