I’ll bet It’s only favorable because MS is offering a free copy of Win 10 for new Pi 2. .

To be fair, MS is offering a free copy of Windows 10 to owners of the
previous two versions of their OS.  They are trying really, really hard
to consolidate their ecosystem....

Although it is quite free, I've seen nothing to the contrary.  I fully
expect them to try a "subscription" model after year 1.
